Fairy Tale Television Role for Actress
New Zealand actress Rose McIver, 24, who starred in Peter Jackson’s 2009 film The Lovely Bones, has landed the pivotal season three role of Tinker Bell on the ABC fairy tale drama, Once Upon a Time, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. McIver will appear in the new season – which will kick off in Neverland – in a recurring capacity, dropping by for multiple episodes. Though details are being kept close to the vest, Lost executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis indicated during Once’s Comic-Con panel on 20 July that Tinker Bell will have a “surprising connection” to one of the main characters on the show when she is introduced.
McIver has also been cast as a recurring character on Showtime’s Masters of Sex, which is based on the book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love by Thomas Maier. McIver played Summer Landsdown/Ranger Operator Series Yellow in 2009’s Power Rangers: RPM. Once Upon a Time premieres 29 September on ABC. McIver lives in Los Angeles.
