Land of the Long White Cloud Google’s Top Honeymoon Destination
It may be a tiny country at the bottom of the world, but its beautifully diverse landscape and stunning natural scenery has made New Zealand the number one trending honeymoon destination, according to Google’s annual Zeitgeist report.
The Zeitgest report, consisting of 1,000 plus Top 10 lists of popular and trending searches from 72 countries has revealed the list, with New Zealand at number one.
According to Business Insider, “If you and your honey enjoy active adventures in a natural setting, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more diverse destination. There are gorgeous beaches for swimming and sunbathing, freshwater lakes for fishing, fast-moving rivers for rafting, breathtaking fjords to explore and mountains to climb. There’s even a region of active volcanoes.
“New Zealand is also the only place on earth where you can see flightless birds like the kakapo and kiwi. The country, made up of North and South islands as well as a few smaller outer islands, may not be as populated as nearby Australia but it’s well developed and easy to get around by car.”
The Zeitgeist report has ranked New Zealand above other dreamy honeymoon getaways like Cancun, the Maldives and Tahiti.
