Air New Zealand to Launch Direct Flights to Vietnam

“Air New Zealand has announced to launch direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City starting from next summer with three flights a week that aim to promote Vietnam tourism”, according to an article in Thanh Nien News.

“We’re expanding our Pacific Rim presence introducing New Zealand’s first direct service to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam,” as stated in an Air New Zealand statement.

“Vietnam (…) is a holiday spot that has huge appeal and we’re confident that by offering a direct service even more Kiwis will be keen to explore it,” said Christopher Luxon, Air New Zealand’s Chief Executive Officer in a statement.

Already 15,000 New Zealanders have travelled to Vietnam in the past year.

“Air New Zealand’s new service to Vietnam is significantly more convenient, and quicker than current indirect options. It will also provide a direct link for Vietnamese travellers coming to New Zealand and we look forward to welcoming them,” said Luxon.

The 11-hour direct flights will be operated by Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
