Bindi on at Pataka
Porirua’s Pataka Museum of Arts & Culture is currently holding “Bindi — The Indian Dot” exhibition, which will continue through November 14. Applauding Pataka for holding an art exhibition related to Hindu cultural icon bindi, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement from Nevada, US, said that art had a long and rich tradition in Hinduism and ancient Sanskrit literature talked about religious paintings of deities on wood or cloth. Pataka, launched in 1998, is among New Zealand’s leading museums of Maori, Pacific and New Zealand contemporary art and receives over 165, visitors annually.
