Christchurch Teen Flynn Cranston Flies Up Charts
Fifteen-year-old Flynn Cranston has become the youngest New Zealander to enter the Billboard music charts, after co-writing and co-producing hit single Richer with US rappers Rod Wave and Polo G, David Skipwith reports for Stuff.
Both the track and the album have enjoyed considerable success, peaking highly on various US charts, including No 22 on Billboard’s Hot 100, while the album went to No 1 on the Top 200 earlier this month.
Cranston’s status as a high-flying hip-hop producer has quickly earned him plenty of credibility with his new schoolmates, with Richer being released just three days before he started at Cashmere High School.
“There were quite a few surprised faces when I told them I’ve got a song with Rod Wave and Polo G, that’s for sure,” Cranston told Stuff.
