During his promotional run for the film, The Rock (who spent time in Grey Lynn as a child and whose mother is Samoan) spoke to NZ’s Sunday Times about his origins: “My Samoan heritage is extremely important to me … I don’t get to see them as often as I would like to but the love is there, and to all my family in NZ, talofa lava.”
