Edgy stroll
The best way to begin your New Zealand adventure is, according to the Telegraph’s Tarquin Cooper, with a walk around the top of Auckland’s 328m Sky Tower. The Sky Tower is the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere and is an iconic feature of the city skyline. The Sky Walk offers a fantastic 36 degree view from the top. But this is no ordinary viewing platform. The walk is along a metal gangway just a metre wide that runs around the outside of the structure. Oh, and there’s one other defining feature — or lack of one. There’s no handrail to stop you going over the edge!
