Financial Literacy for Kids

New Zealander Lucas Remmerswaal, 52, is in the United States on a mission to increase the financial literacy of children through the lessons of American business magnate Warren Buffett. Remmerswaal is in North America to work on and promote his children’s books about the habits that have made Buffett one of the world’s wealthiest men. Those habits include working hard, saving money to invest, reading constantly, avoiding borrowed money and living with integrity. Remmerswaal’s books are called The Tale of Tortoise Buffett and The A-Z of 13 Habits. “My job is to be a billboard for Buffett,” Remmerswaal, a financial adviser and insurance broker, said. “There’s a huge need for this because they don’t teach it in school.”
