Fisher & Paykel Patriotic Through and Through
A New Zealand woman has uncovered a unique feature of Fisher & Paykel washing machine – they sing the national anthem. Auckland woman uploaded a video to YouTube of her washing machine sounding the anthem after she presses a series of buttons. Fisher and Paykel marketing manager Sonya Aiken explains that the company gave its machine’s the ability to play the anthem almost 20 years ago for in-store demonstrations, but this little known ability was left undiscovered until recently. The machines are also able to play the Australian and United States national anthems. Since the rediscovery was made Fisher and Paykel have received calls from throughout New Zealand with people concerned they may have broken their machines. Activating the anthem sets that machine to demonstration mode, but it can be reset by unplugging the machine for 20 seconds.
To make your Fisher and Paykel Sing:
- Hold down power button and the one parallel together until all the lights turn on.
- NZ anthem: press temperature up button for 2 seconds.
- Australian anthem: press wash level up for 2 seconds until it beeps then press temperature up button for 2 seconds.
- US anthem: press wash level up 2 seconds until it beeps, repeat pressing wash level up for 2 seconds until it beeps then press temperature up button for 2 seconds.
