Former All Black Brian Fitzpatrick has died aged 75. A sturdily built five eigths, Fitzpatrick was a strong runner and tackler. He made two tours with All Black sides in the early 1950s, playing in three tests and 19 other first-class matches for NZ. Terry McLean, who covered Fitzpatrick’s last tour, rated him the best tackler in the team. Fitzpatrick also played for Victoria University, New Zealand Universities, Wellington and Auckland. Brian Fitzpatrick’s son, Sean, is the most capped All Black in history.
