Fulfilling Your Dreams in New Zealand
“Bungy jumping, whitewater rafting, skydiving and getting lost in an adult-sized maze all featured highly on my [bucket] list but I never thought I’d get to do any of them. And then I arrived in New Zealand,” Cathal McMahon writes for the Irish Mirror.
“The land of kiwis and the All Blacks is the perfect destination for realising your life’s ambitions in just a few short weeks.
“There’s no denying getting there is a chore but once you’ve tipped down it couldn’t be easier to negotiate.”
McMahon flies into Christchurch, “a good launchpad for the South Island with hundreds of incredible sights less than two hours’ drive away.”
“Further south you have the towns of Queenstown and Wanaka – the true winter capitals of New Zealand. Sitting alongside the nation’s top ski resorts the towns offer so much more than just tumbling down an icy slope. Wanaka is home to Puzzling World where the first 3D super maze was created in 1973.
“A picturesque three-hour ferry journey brought us across to the North Island and the nation’s capital.
“[McMahon then heads north where] the shelves of Dive! Tutukaka’s office are falling down with awards and one plunge into the waters around these protected islands will help you understand why.
“In just over a month in New Zealand I managed to complete my bucket list.
“After all that I was left with just one more thing to do – write another list.”
