New Zealand will share its expertise in green technology with India to help the East Asian country produce clean energy and build an eco-friendly transport system. “New Zealand has a competitive advantage in green technology. I know India has a great interest in building renewable energy and transport system,” New Zealand Trade Commissioner to New Delhi Cliff Fuller said at the January New Zealand Invest 2010 conference in New Dehli. He added New Zealand also has an edge in areas like aviation, dairy products, food and beverages. The bilateral trade between India and New Zealand stood at over $6 billion during 2008-09. New Zealand is also in the process of negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with India and the negotiations are expected to start sometime this year.
