Incentive for training

All Black Sonny Bill Williams, 25, will soon step back into the boxing ring for a bout against Australian Scott Lewis on January 29 ahead of the Super rugby season and the 211 World Cup. When Williams inked a deal with the New Zealand Rugby Union last June it is believed to have included provision for him to undertake two boxing bouts in 211. Canterbury NPC coach, Rob Penney, says not only is Williams contractually entitled to box, but he needs to for his own peace of mind. “I think it’s good,” Penney said. “It incentivises his training, so I don’t see it as a problem.”
