Jacob Tomuri – More Than Tom Hardy’s Mad Max Stunt Double

“Mad Max Fury Road spends two hours denying audiences the chance to catch their breath. Much of that is thanks to the work of star Tom Hardy and his stunt double, Jacob Tomuri”, proclaims Kim Holcomb for King 5.

“Each day was a challenge but exhilarating at the same time”, said the New Zealand actor and stuntman, who doubled for the British superstar as outback nomad Max Rockatansky in George Miller’s new film.

“George pushed them beyond their degree of expertise. These guys did some death-defying stuff out there”, said Hardy.

The fact that there was no computer-generated imagery challenged the Kiwi stunt double even more.

Mad Max: Fury Road is the first new Mad Max film to hit cinemas in over 30 years and follows Hardy’s Max as he becomes embroiled with Charlize Theron’s freedom fighter Furiosa.

Jacob Tomuri is a New Zealand actor and stuntman. His stunt work includes Legend of the Seeker, and Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Tomuri is also doubling for Hardy in true life crime thriller Legend and revenge western The Revenant.
