Jumping Back On Court

Rotorua-born basketball player Taki Te Koi plays as a senior for California’s Dominican University women’s team and after a torn ligament injury “is ready to put it all out on the court again in trying to get back to the level that made her the California Pacific Conference freshman of the year.” After Te Koi graduates with a biology degree in June, she will return to New Zealand to pursue her studies as a physical therapist. Dominican women’s coach Brianna Chambers is glad to have Te Koi on the floor. “We’ve been missing [her] leadership … her unselfishness,” Chambers said. “She does whatever the team needs. She’s also one of our more physical players.”
