Ko Wins First Professional Title

09 December 2013 – Just a matter of weeks after announcing that she had turned pro, New Zealand golfer Lydia Ko has won her first professional title.

The 16-year-old won the Swinging Skirts World Ladies Masters, at the Linkou Miramar Gold Club in Taipei. Trailing by three shots heading into the final nine holes of the three-round event, Ko held her nerve to surge by world number five So Yeon Ryu to win the event by three strokes.

Ko finished the tournament at 11-under after firing a three-under 69 to go with back-to-back rounds of 68.

Ko announced her decision to go pro with a YouTube video featuring All Black Israel Dagg earlier this year.
