Lawless Set to Razzle Dazzle in Chicago
Television star Lucy Lawless, 45, will join True Blood’s Stephen Moyer and Les Misérables’ Samantha Barks for a special three-night performance of the Broadway smash Chicago, which will run from 26 July to 28 July at the famed Hollywood Bowl Theater in Los Angeles. “Actress Brook Shields will make her directorial debut for the three-night performance,” the Latin Times reports. “Veteran conductor Rob Fisher will handle the music. Lawless, who plays ‘Mama’ Morton in the musical, has often been a staple of fan favourite shows like Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica and most recently Spartacus. For three seasons of Spartacus Lawless played the conniving Lucretia. The Domina of the house of Batiatus, Lucretia was the wife of a gladiator owner who purchases Spartacus, a free man who has no desire to live as a slave. Spartacus was bloody and brilliant and often featured Lawless nude. Following her Chicago run in Los Angeles the Auckland-born actress will return home to be a part of the Auckland Theatre Company’s own production of Chicago which will run from 1 November to 24 November. Lawless is said to be making an appearance in the third Expendables movie alongside Jackie Chan, Nicholas Cage and Wesley Snipes who The Inquisitr says will also be joining the cast.”
