Lifestyle for sale

A Waimauku three-bedroom cedar home on five acres is advertised for sale in a recent New York Times. Priced between $1.2 and 1.4 million, the main house has a steeply sloped asymmetrical roof and is L-shaped, with a swimming pool tucked into the inside corner of the L. Opposite the pool is a guest cottage with one bedroom and one bath. In the third quarter of last year, the average price for homes in this area, 3 minutes from Auckland’s commercial centre, was 1.2 million New Zealand dollars senior appraiser at Quotable Value Glenda Whitehead said. The price of this home jibes with that average, according to chief executive of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand Helen O’Sullivan.
