Luxury Lover’s Guide to Queenstown
“Set beside a glittering lake, surrounded by snow-tipped mountain ranges, Queenstown is a traveller’s paradise on the rise,” writes Mahalia Chang in her Queenstown guide for luxury lovers published on Harper’s Bazaar.
“High-end eateries, boutique hotels and best-of-the-best wineries make up the luxury landscape, which also offers unique experiences and scenic tours.”
“Looking out over Lake Wakatipu – Eichardt’s Private Hotel is a must,” according to Chang.
“As a boutique hotel, Eichardt’s walks the line between homely comforts (a roaring fireplace, ultra-plush beds, fresh flowers) and five-star luxury (marble bathrooms, postcard-level views, personal turn-downs complete with artisanal treats).”
“No5 Church Lane, The Spire’s in-house restaurant,” is one of the places you shouldn’t miss when it comes to food, according to Chang.
“Amidst moody décor, the restaurant offers a charming tapas menu supported by local produce.”
“If you don’t mind taking a drive out, Akarua Wines & Kitchen is another can’t-miss,” she writes.
Chang also recommends taking a day trip to Arrowtown, trying wines at some of Central Otago’s vineyards and pampering yourself at the Queenstown Onsen Hot Pools (pictured).
