Ma’a Nonu to Win 100th Cap

All Blacks centre Ma’a Nonu will make his 100th international appearance in New Zealand’s Rugby World Cup match against Tonga in Newcastle on Friday (Saturday morning New Zealand time).

“On behalf of the All Blacks, we would like to congratulate Ma’a on this special milestone,” said Steve Hansen, coach of the New Zealand team.

“He has been an incredibly valued member of our group for a very long time. He has been fully committed to enhancing the All Blacks jersey and the values that go with it.”

According to Hansen the player has changed a lot over the years.

“He’s grown into a leader within the group – he doesn’t say a lot but when he does it’s right on the money. He asks a lot of himself and cares a lot about the team, and we care a lot about him,” said the coach as reported in The Telegraph.
