Marton Csokas Employs Brutal Tactics in New Miniseries
New Zealand actor Marton Csokas plays General Thomas Gage in the History Channel miniseries Sons of Liberty, which premieres on 25 January.
Sons of Liberty, a three-part, six-hour series, which was filmed in Romania, tells the back-stories of the Founding Fathers and their furtive efforts to turn a colony into a country.
Csokas plays the brutal general who is sent by the King to handle the unrest in Boston by any means necessary. Gage puts the city on lockdown, instructing his men to crack down on any signs of resistance. The tactics he employs put the city on edge and his soldiers’ actions ultimately light the fuse on a rebellion that cannot be stopped.
Csokas, 48, most recently starred as the lead of The Equalizer with Denzel Washington. He played a brutal fixer for the Russian mafia and a formidable villain to Washington’s heroic “Robert McCall.”
Earlier in 2014, Csokas appeared in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah as well as Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, a sequel to the 2005 hit film Sin City. Csokas also played the psychiatrist, Dr Kafka, in the hit movie sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, alongside Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx.
