New Zealand Soccer Player Winston Reid Renews Contract

West Ham defender Winston Reid has ended speculation about his future by signing a new six and a half year deal worth up to £20 million with the Upton Park Club.

“There was a lot of speculation in the media about Winston’s future and I know that some of Europe’s top sides were taking a look at him” Co-chairman David Sullivan told the news.

“There were a lot of factors that I took into account when I was making my decision, but most importantly I felt that I was valued at the club – we will be improving in future seasons and I really feel at home here,” Reid, the 26-year-old All Whites skipper, said to his fans on fanzbookz.com.

The 26 year old New Zealander is looking forward to the upcoming stadium move, which he said “was a factor” in his decision. “(David) was clearly very committed to getting the deal done and keeping me at the club, so I’d like to thank him for that.”

Reid was born in Devonport, before moving to Denmark. Before signing with Westham he played for Danish side FC Midtjylland, and currently captains the New Zealand national team.
