Queenstown Voted Top Destination in the South Pacific
Queenstown has been voted the number one destination in the South Pacific as well as one of the top 25 locations worldwide in Trip advisor’s 2015 Traveler’s Choice awards.
“These world-class destinations chosen by our community are rich in history, culture and beauty and offer endless sights to explore,” Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, said in a written statement.
In total 12 New Zealand destinations were included in the South Pacific ranking: Auckland (7), Blenheim (9), Rotorua (10), Nelson (11), Taupo (12), Napier (14), Wanaka (15), Russell (17), Tauranga (19), New Plymouth (22) and Kaikoura (24).
TripAdvisor’s ranking of 469 travel destinations is based on millions of reviews and traveller opinions over a 12-month period.
Marrakesh in Morocco was ranked the top international destination for the first time.
