Sky Tower Named One of Regions Top Towers

Auckland’s Sky Tower has been named as one of the Asia Pacific’s top ten iconic observation towers by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website. Coming in at number five on the list of famous buildings in the region with breath-taking views, the Sky Tower is ranked more highly than well known towers in Japan, China and Vietnam.

Ranked based on reviews and opinions from travellers around the world, the Sky Tower has received over 1,300 reviews on the site of which 1,186 rate the attraction as either very good or excellent.

As the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere, the Sky Tower allows visitors to take in 360 degree views of the city for up to 80 kilometres in every direction. As described by one reviewer, “The view is insane! You have not seen Auckland in its proper glory until you have viewed it all from that height!”

Shanghai’s World Financial Centre took out the top spot, with Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Melbourne’s Eureka Skydeck  and the Gold Coast’s SkyPoint tower rounding out the top four.
