Stunning NZ Super Rugby Stats Send Ominous Warning to Opponents
Many believe that New Zealand “are as vulnerable as ever this summer,” after having lost their faction of hall of famers to international careers, writes Matthew Southcombe for Wales Online.
Looking at New Zealand’s stunning Super Rugby stats, however, it seems they are better than ever.
“On the whole, New Zealand’s five Super Rugby franchises have run in more tries, scored more points and won more games than at the same stage last season.”
Dave Rennie’s Chiefs top the New Zealand conference and overall standings and have produced the most frightening stats.
They’ve scored 47 more points in exactly the same amount of games, which is largely down to the fact they’ve scored 22 more tries this year.
And even the lowly Blues, New Zealand’s struggling franchise, are performing substantially better than last season, having scored more tries, more points and won a staggering four more games than at this point last season despite having played one less game.
