New Zealand quintet The Naked and Famous have already topped local singles and album charts and now they want to repeat their success globally. They’re off to a blistering start after being named in the recent BBC Sound of 211 poll, which has previously picked out big names like Adele, 50 Cent, Mika and Ellie Goulding. Singer Alisa Xayalith, 24, said: “We’re still getting used to news filtering through; being on the BBC list was pretty crazy. Our single Young Blood has its own little legs and started walking around, it went viral. People latched on to it on the other side of the world. It’s been old-fashioned word of mouth but via the internet.” The Naked and Famous are relocating to London in 211.
