Tentative ten

Wellington’s Weta Digital effects house has begun pre-production on the sequel to Peter Jackson-produced District 9, the “tentatively titled” District 10. Filming is scheduled to begin in South Africa and New Zealand in October. Film site MarketSaw has stated that it is not certain whether District 10 will be shot in 3D however, with Jackson producing and directing Mortal Engines, another Weta film, in stereoscopic 3D, it is likely that District 10 will do the same. Mortal Engines, which Jackson will direct and produce, is based on a series of five books by Phillip Reeve set in a devastated post-annihilation world where huge floating cities roam the skies and do battle with one another.
